Conner Smithhas "a slightly different song but still a beautiful song that will become a permanent listen," for some fans, as he relates to those in the river valley and small communities that have a love and concern with the subject of his single.
Flooding is an issue, this time of the year, and while it's a negative happening the people who live near any creek, that could rise, knows that the life by the water is a positive to them. A fast river can be more dangerous, with the increased flow, creating stronger currents that can sweep people and objects downstream. The water can erode the riverbank, flooding and cause damage to property.
The Fastest Running Rivers In The USA are documented with the fastest being the Mississippi and second fastest being the Ohio river.
Situations can turn bad around creeks connected to the Mississippi and Ohio but many, in these areas, always have 'hope' for great outcomes that happen in 'Creek Will Rise.'The other situation is when there is not enough rain that the creek will dry up cutting off water supplies to wildlife and farmers using the water to grow. It's a concerning and rewarding life near a creek.
A southern saying that is part of the river valley, so Conner explains that he visualized what the 'good' scenario is of that mainstay saying as is pertains to 'Creek Will Rise.'
"A country love song about the good reasons of getting stuck and that's
where the idea came from,"Conner tells Dan Van from A&O&B. "I had that idea, you know obviously the saying,
"Good Lord Willing and the Creek Don't Rise," when you want something to
happen and then had this idea of wanting the creek to rise and you'd be stuck
there with this girl,'as Conner continues"and so you're hoping that the storm keeps coming enough so your truck can't get to the other side but enough to when you wake up, the sun comes back out that you'll be just fine and it'll at least make a memory and not a disaster."
